Strike Paralyses Health Services In Sagamu

By Daud Olatunji ABEOKUTA-Activities at the
Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital,
Sagamu, Ogun State, were paralysed yesterday,
as the workers began an indefinite strike.
According to the workers under the aegis of
Joint Health Sector Unions, OOUTH, Sagamu, the
industrial action was declared due to neglect by
the state government, unpaid allowances,
delayed promotion and unfavourable working
environment, among others. The JOHESU
consists of National Association of Nigerian
Nurses and Midwives, Medical Health Workers
Union of Nigeria, Non Academic Staff Union of
Educational and Associated Institutions, and the
Senior Staff Association of Teaching Hospitals,
Research Institutes and Associatied Instituitions,
SSAUTHRIAI at OOUTH. Addressing newsmen at
the hospital, the chairman, JOHESU, OOUTH,
Sagamu, Kikelomo Enaholo accused Governor
Ibikunle Amosun, who she claimed visited the
hospital during his campaign three years ago
